Living Stones Planning Committee (2019-2020)
*Note-- this group is discontinued. Below is a summary of our goals.
We get so consumed with "putting out fires" and just the normal day-to-day responsibilities that it is often difficult to find time for planning--long-range and ongoing. However, planning that is long-range and ongoing is essential, if we hope to develop parishes that are more vibrant than they are now and that better meet the needs of all parishioners throughout the diocese.
Therefore a St. Mary's Potsdam and St. Patrick's Colton Living Stones Planning Committee was formed including volunteers from the parish community who committed to working together over several months to help achieve our goal of a more vibrant, responsive, and engaged church community.
The parishioners of St. Mary's and St. Patrick's joined together --some meetings scheduled at St. Mary's in Potsdam and others at St. Patrick's in Colton.
Updates were be given to all parishioners as committees developed recommendations for the parishes to consider. Questions can be asked to Bill Amoriell, Chair of St. Mary's and St. Patrick's Living Stones Planning Committee by telephone at (315) 265-4850 and e-mail at [email protected].
A planning committee is currently being formed for St. Mary's and St. Patrick's parishes that will be charged with identifying opportunities and initiatives to further strengthen our church community and ensure that the pastoral needs of all of our parishioners are met.
The committee will include volunteers from the parish community who are committed to working together over the next several months to help achieve our goal of a more vibrant, responsive, and engaged church community.
I urge you to consider joining us in this important process. We need parishioners who have
recently graduated high school, all the way up to those who are retired. It is also important to
have young families represented. An initial interest meeting will be scheduled to explain, in
more detail, what we hope to do and accomplish. You will also have an opportunity to ask any
questions you might have.
If you wish to volunteer, please either e-mail me at [email protected] or call me at (315)
265-4850 by January 19, 2020, or complete the slip below and put it in the collection basket next
weekend (Jan. 18 or 19). I hope you consider joining us in this important endeavor. Once the
Planning Committee is finalized, I’ll communicate with everyone to schedule the first meeting.

Chair, St. Mary's and St. Patrick's Living Stones Planning Committee
